The 2012 season took the HHS boys cross country team to state for the first time in 16 years. And for only the 2nd time in the schools 40 year history. What made this year special is the team had missed the finals the past two years by only a few points both years.

October 27, 2012 Richland High School in Johnstown, PA competed in the district 6 cross country meet. The team advanced to the Pennsylvania State Meet held on November 3, 2012 with a win over Bishop McCourt! Score 98-114
